Objectives of Integrated Child Development Services:

·        Improving the Nutritional, Health, Mental and Social Development of 0-6 years Children there by controlling malnourishment under 3 years children and promoting child rearing practices in family level

·        Improving Nutritional and Health status of women particularly Ante-natal, Post Natal mother and Adolescent girls

·        By creating awareness regarding the  management of family nutrition and health problems among mothers and Adolescent Girls there by create  empowerment

Scheme Beneficiaries:

·        0-3 years children

·        Post Natal Mothers

Nutritional and health Services given to Beneficiaries :

·       Registration of Ante-Natal Mothers

·       Taking Medical checkup and giving care to all registered Ante-Natal mothers

·       Weight taking for every month to monitor the growth of the foetus

·       Giving Tetanus -Toxoid injections

·       Giving Iron  and folic acid Tablets

·       Giving supplementary food for malnourished Ante-natal Mothers

·       Giving Nutritional and Health  Education

·       Referring at risk Ante-Natal mothers  for medical checkup

·       Giving Family Welfare Education

 

Services for Post-Natal Mothers :

·        Post Natal  care

·        Giving Nutrition and Health Education

·        Referring at-risk post – natal mothers for medical checkup

·        Taking birth weight for new born babies and giving  special  care for low birth weight babies

·        Educating them about infant rearing practices and the importance of exclusive breast feeding up to 6 months

 

Services for 0-3 years children :

·        Weight taking for every month to monitor the growth

·        Giving supplementary food to malnourished  children

·        Immunization

·        Giving vitamin ‘A’ solution 

·        Treating for minor - ailments

·        Referring children who are affected by diarrhoea, acute respiratory infections and those who are in ( in deficit of growth) under growth

·        Giving De-worming medicines

·        Giving education about the inducing or initiating activities  for the overall development of the under 3 years child to the parents, care – takers and the society

·        Early identification of  disabilities among children and referral services

 

 

Services for 3-6 years children :

·        Weight taking once in 3 months to monitor the growth

·        Giving Noon Meal in the centre

·        Administering  vitamin ‘A’ solution

·        De-worming once in 6 months

·        Referral services to the infected children

·        Giving Pre - School Education

Services for Adolescent girls :

·        Weight taking of Adolescent girls in the Anganwadi centre

·        Giving Iron and Folic acid  Tablets

·        Giving De-worming  medicines

·        Educating them about Health and personal hygiene

·        Helping them to get education regarding family life, personality development and empowerment

Social Welfare Department :

·        Informing the beneficiaries about the various welfare schemes of the Government

·        Informing about the poor and widow woman’s marriage help scheme and sewing machine schemes to the Beneficiaries and help them to get the benefits

·        Participating in special camps such as female infanticide,  high order birth and early marriages

 

Health Department:

·        An Anganwadi worker has to ensure that health chek-up all beneficiaries is done by health staff i.e ANM/LHVs/Medical Officers

·        Motivate the mother to adopt suitable family planning methods

·        Takes Tetanus Toxoid immunization

·          An AWW should identify ‘at risk’ pregnant women and refer them to the nearest health facility.

·        Under Pulse Polio Programme , additional dose of OPV is given to all the children below 5 years.

·        An AWW should refer children and women who need immediate medical care to PHC/Hospital using a prescribed referral Slip. .

 

Revenue Department :

·        To get application for family cards from the public and enquire about the details in direct and giving reports

·        Help to prepare voters list and identify left - out   voters and also help in camps of taking voters photographs

Educational Department :

·        Help to identify the drop-out  children and to enroll them in schools

·        Help to identify child labours and to enroll them in special schools

·        Enrolling the 5 years completed children in schools

Disability Rehabilitation Department :

·        Help to take list of disabled persons and to get the identity cards, government benefits and necessary treatment

·        Taking the cleft lips and cleft – palate patients to the medical camps held for their treatment

Trainings given  under the scheme :

·        Anganwadi workers and Helpers Job Training and Refresher  Training

·        Severely malnourished children’s parent’s awareness Training (Sector level)

·        Adolescent Girl’s Training in which personality development, nutrition and health education and laws in favour of  women’s rights are taught

·        Parenting training for parents and care takers about child rearing

·        Eligible couples training in which family planning,  nutrition and health education were given to them

·        Convergence training in which other government department personnel were given training regarding the scheme

·        Gender - sensitisation and women empowerment training for Panchayat Raj  members

·        FREQUE  Training

·        AIDS awareness training for workers

·        Awareness training for Iodine Deficiency and controlling

·        Demonstration training of nutritive foods at low cost locally available foods

·        Disability management training for Anganwadi workers and village health nurses to identify the disabilities in early period of children and to treat them in time
